The ProGear 190 Manual Treadmill is a skeletal machine that captures at most the very essence of a low cost treadmill. With a price tag of only Check Price - $$ on Amazon, the treadmill comes criminally cheap and has a horde of buyers. But does the inexpensive price tag jeopardize the quality of the machine? For the purpose of answering that question, we have dedicated the space in this article to feature ProGear’s entry level model and ruminate if it’s worth buying or not.
The ProGear 190 Manual Treadmill measures at 47 x 23 x 51 inches of length, width, and height respectively. It is also capable of being folded; and when it does so, the treadmill has dimensions of 21 inches length, 23 inches width, and 51 inches height. Transportation wheels fixed to its bottom signify that it will be easy to move the treadmill from one room to the other when you are not working out.
It’s running belt measures at 13 x 43 inches which can prove to be very narrow and problematic for users with bigger running action.
The ProGear 190 Manual Treadmill does come with an LCD display but it is a very simplistic and skeletal one that tracks elapsed time, distance covered, calories burned, and total speed. Not all these readings are shown together and one must continuously press the button in order to switch between one reading to the next.
The treadmill is made of steel frame and has powder coated finish. It also has wider and much longer side handles with foam grip that grants extra safety and balance. You can practically hold on to it as you undertake your workout. Since the treadmill is very inexpensive, it does not come with any installed motor and so the running belt moves only with the momentum of your strides. Twin cast iron fly-wheels allow the treadmill to afford you a comfortable and smooth walking experience. The machine also provides oversized belt rollers in order to ensure that your workout experience is pleasant and much more convenient for the consumer.
The treadmill itself weighs a minimal 49 pounds making it feathery light in terms of treadmills. It can support a weight of maximum 225 pounds at most, making it a little problematic because we are unsure if the treadmill will be able to work for long if anyone close to or a little above 200 pounds were to use it. Maybe that is why ProGear are offering this machine with a 1 year warranty because they too seem to not have much faith in the longevity of their product.
The biggest highlight of the ProGear 190 Manual Treadmill however is its incline options. The treadmill comes with two incline options ranging from 6 degrees to 10 degrees. The slope is manually adjustable and when used is guaranteed to amp up the intensity and difficulty of your workout.
- Very inexpensive.
- Extremely easy to assemble
- Compact in size
- Two incline options for more intense workouts
- The display is too basic and cheap
- The running surface is too narrow for those with greater strides
- The belt has a tendency to oscillate during workouts
Pimchanok leuwisetpaiboon. In retrospect, the ProGear 190 Manual Treadmill is too basic for a treadmill which seems to have more disadvantages than outright advantages. While that is expected of a treadmill that barely costs a little more than a hundred dollars, ProGear plays it too safe with this product and there is nothing too particularly impressive about it that’ll make it stand out in contrast to its other, more flashy compatriots. The only great thing about this treadmill is its two incline options which are admittedly pretty good. But as an all round piece of equipment, maybe you can dish out twenty to thirty bucks more for a much better treadmill.

ProGear 190 Manual Treadmill Review
Build Quality - 5.8
Design - 4.9
The treadmill comes cheap which affects the quality in some areas. But being a manual treadmill with two adjustable inclines means it will be good enough to have you up and exercising daily.
